Waterloo Basement Waterproofing is a booking line. It is not a waterproofing company, and it is not a directory that sells your enquiry to a list of bidders. It connects to one local waterproofing contractor working across the city: the century homes uptown and in Mary-Allen, the student rental basements near the universities, the 1970s-90s poured foundations in Beechwood, Lakeshore and Lincoln Village, the newer subdivisions in Laurelwood, Columbia Forest and Vista Hills, and the village and farm properties in St. Jacobs and Elmira.
Wet basements attract a particular kind of selling. A free inspection that ends with a full-perimeter exterior excavation quote for a house with one leaking crack. A lifetime warranty on a product that was never the problem. A sealant painted on the inside of a stone wall. A sump pump sold to a house on Moraine sand that has never had standing water near it. Anyone who has collected a few waterproofing quotes will recognise at least one of those.
The point of this site is a straight line to a contractor who traces the leak before pricing it, checks the downspouts and grade before proposing a trench, looks at every crack for movement before injecting it, breaks the scope out wall by wall, and says plainly when the fix is a small one or when it belongs to another trade.
What we will not do: publish reviews we do not have, invent a rating or a star count, show a portfolio of jobs that are not ours, quote a fixed price on a website, claim to be a certified installer for any product brand, or sell your phone number. This site is new. It says what it can do and nothing more.
What the contractor handles
- Leaking crack injection and sealing in poured concrete foundations, from inside
- Exterior membrane waterproofing with excavation, drainage board and new weeping tile
- Interior weeping tile and sump systems, sump pump replacement and battery backup
- Crawlspace encapsulation with drainage, vapour barrier, insulation and dehumidification
- Grading, downspout and window well drainage corrections
What it does not handle
This site covers keeping water out of a basement. Structural foundation repair, meaning bowing or leaning walls, cracks that are moving, settlement and underpinning, is a different trade, and a crack that is moving gets referred rather than injected. Mould that has already grown is a remediation trade. Finishing the basement once it is dry is a renovation trade. Sump pump circuits and backup chargers are electrical work through the Electrical Safety Authority. Lot grading and permit questions belong to the City of Waterloo, source-water protection and flooding programs to the Region of Waterloo, floodplain approvals to the Grand River Conservation Authority, and workplace coverage to WSIB. You will be told when a job belongs to someone else rather than sold something that will not fix it.
How this works
When you call 226-705-1140 or send the form, your details go straight to the waterproofing contractor's office. They arrange a visit to trace where the water is getting in, check the grade, downspouts, window wells and sump, look at any cracks for movement, then quote the work in writing, wall by wall, with the least invasive option first where there is one. The work is done under their own insurance. Your information is not sold, not shared with a list of competing companies, and there is no markup added to your bill for the introduction.
What we won't do
- Publish reviews we didn't earn. When we have them, they'll be real ones with names.
- Quote a firm price before someone has seen the job.
- Send anyone into your property who we would not have in our own.
